Both Olympus and Panasonic have introduced cameras based on the Micro Four Thirds technology, resulting in significantly smaller cameras taking pictures close up to SLR cameras. Olympus PEN E-PL1 offers 12.3 megapixels, HD movie, up to 4 pics per second, 2.7” LCD-screen and more. The camera is easy to use with the new feature Live Guide interface.

Sony follows the trend with hybrid cameras and in May 2010 they launched the NEX-3 and NEX-5. The cameras have the  small size of a compact digital camera and combines many of the advantages of a SLR camera.
