Road fixed
One of the most powerful earthquake, measured at a magnitude of 9.0, and a tsunami that more or less wiped out large areas along the northeastern coast of Japan on March 11th, 2011, have caused major damage.
But already some roads are fixed.
Meanwhile Japan fights a tough battle to avoid a nuclear catastrophe. But the Japanese are known to be effective and work hard.
Although it will take time before everything is as before, reconstruction has already begun several places. AP news agency has published photos showing that construction teams have repaired a stretch of highway in just six days.
The first picture was taken some days after the earthquake. It shows a road in Naka completely destroyed by the earthquake. About 150 meters highway was torn up, with large, deep cracks. The second picture was taken just six days later, and shows the same stretch of road in perfect condition.
I like the them on this blog. Is it downloadable anywhere? Thanks!
Just think, if they had labor unions in Japan they could have had it fixed in mere months.
